Daniel Dietch

Daniel Dietch Biography Brief - Board of Directors
After receiving an undergraduate degree in Geology and Anthropology from Skidmore College, Daniel worked as an archaeologist in Israel and throughout New England.  During this time, he was fascinated by the wastes left behind by various cultures.  He found his calling in solid waste and seized an opportunity to manage the development of a proprietary in-vessel composting technology for municipal solid waste.  Wanting to learn about commodity recycling, he then managed 25 neighborhood recycling centers in California.  In the late 1990’s, he returned to the east coast to attend Cornell University where he received a Master's degree in environmental management.  He later earned a MBA from the University of Miami.  He is now employed by CH2M HILL and provides strategic solid waste consulting to federal, municipal and commercial clients worldwide.  Daniel actively participates in his profession and his community.  He has served on RFT’s Board since 2004 and as a judge for SWANA’s Planning and Management Excellence Awards since 2006.  In March of 2010, Daniel was elected as Mayor of Surfside, FL, where he lives with his wife and two children.
