Title: Project Manager, Principal (Licensed)
The purpose of this classification is to perform supervisory work, professional engineering design work involving construction projects for the Public Utilities Department Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Division.
Essential Functions:
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, including performance discipline and appraisals, hiring, and training. Develops and implements policies as needed for Section needs.
• Directs, plans, coordinates, assigns, prioritizes, and oversees work of staff members and consultants involved in the design, planning, scheduling, construction, specification development, and various activities during various stages of engineering projects.
• Recommends and assists with implementation of long and short-term plans, goals, and objectives; evaluates efficiency and effectiveness of division operations, activities, systems, and procedures and recommends improvements or modifications; assesses and provides input regarding the impact of project activities on County public/private facilities.
• Coordinates acquisition and/or maintenance of required permitting; researches federal, state, and local code requirements; coordinates efforts between multiple divisions, co-applicants, and consultants to prepare application documents; develops programs and reports as required by permit.
