Recycle Florida Today, Inc. (RFT) in partnership with Marion County Solid Waste Division , will hold a professional environmental regional town hall meeting on October 17. Register to attend this event to discuss issues and opportunities in Marion and the surrounding counties.
The one day meeting is focused on the recycling and sustainability professional and will cover a range of locally focused topics.
Topics include:
- Changes in services for franchise haulers
- The availability of quality outlets for no longer serviced materials
- Opportunities for enhancing collaborations between existing programs to maximize resources
- Other local topics of interest

About Marion County Solid Waste Division (SWD)
Marion County SWD operates 18 convenience recycling centers and 2 drop offs which is located throughout the county. Marion County is approx. 1663 square miles, we service 138,500 households and have over 60,000 visitors per week in our recycling centers. Marion County also operates the Baseline Landfill which is getting ready to convert from an open landfill to a transfer station in the next couple months. We will also be touring our gas to energy plant as well.
