The Organics Recycling Committee of RFT has been very busy working with the organics industry in the State and nationally to advance organics recycling. We have been working to create closer ties with the US Composting Council so that we can better utilize their expertise and expand the markets for compost in Florida. While we decided not to be become a State affiliate of the USCC at this time, we did work closely with them to provide comments on the Florida DOT’s recent rule changes. Our requested changes were not adopted into this cycle of FDOT’s changes however, they are committed to working with us to ensure they will be included in the next cycle. We will be setting up opportunities to discuss with FDOT staff and inviting industry members to participate.
