RECYCLE FLORIDA TODAY, INC ANNOUNCES 2022-2023 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ocala, FL – Recycle Florida Today, Inc. (RFT), known as Florida’s state recycling organization (SRO), has announced this year’s executive committee and board of directors, including two new incumbents and two newly ratified members for the two-year term. Joining the board are new members Rhonda Harvey and David Hill. Rhonda serves as the executive director for Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB), working with the community to expand the many programs that KCB oversees. David is a principal and environmental marketing and consultant who has more than 30 years in the management, operations, and marketing of organics-based products, with an emphasis in biosolids.
Returning to the board are incumbents, Dayna Miller of Waste Pro and Chris Snow of Veransa. Beginning her career in the solid waste industry in 2007 in commercial and construction sales, Dayna currently serves as the Director of Governmental Affairs for the North Florida region for Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. Chris is the Vice President of Corporate Operations Veransa with more than 30 years of municipal solid waste management experience in the areas of organics recycling, solid waste collection and recycling programs, disaster debris management, and capital projects planning and construction management. “I’m excited about the future of this high-functioning organization. The incoming Board, along with our standing directors, bring decades of leadership and service in key areas, such as recycling education, sustainability, organics, waste reduction and diversion, environmental non-profit leadership, and machinery expertise,” said Carmen Bruno, RFT board chair.
Harvey, Hill, Miller, and Snow will serve their two-year term along with the current Board. Current directors serving RFT are, Carmen Bruno of Hernando County Recycling and Solid Waste, Rob Eck of Sierra Container, Sue Flak of Indian River County, Timothy Lamontagne of Lee County, Shelley Samec of Alachua County Solid Waste & Resource Recovery, Miriam Zimms of Kessler Consulting, Inc. In addition to welcoming incoming directors, the Board elected the 2022-2023 executive committee with Carmen Bruno serving as chairperson, Shelley Samec as vice chairperson, Sue Flak as secretary, and Chris Snow as treasurer.
