OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING: The training will cover the fundamentals of composting and how to practice those fundamentals at a commercial-scale composting facility. The attendees will be provided with composting fundamentals certificate.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
A half-day-long training will be provided. Registration includes lunch, training, event certificate, and facility tour. Registration is limited to the first 40 people, so register today to ensure a place.

- $40.00 for Florida Composting Council members
- $50.00 per participant for non-members

SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES
Dr. Monica Hampton is well-known in agriculture. She has been called Florida’s “Compost Queen” through her research and workshops on compost utilization through UF/IFAS and the US Composting Council. She is the founder and CEO of TerraNutri, LLC., a consulting company specializing in research and development in agriculture/compost and composting. Dr. Shiva Ahrens is a Principal Research Scientist at Florida Crystals. She got her Ph.D. in Soil Biogeochemistry from Indiana University. She joined Florida Crystals in 2017 and has overseen the ‘Plant Nutrition Program’ in Research and Development Department. She has managed Florida Crystal’s compost project since 2018. The large-scale agricultural composting facility started its operations at the beginning of 2022. Shive became a Certified Compost Operations Manager™ (CCOM) in 2021. Chris Snow is the Vice President of Corporate Operations at Veransa and FLCC Board Chair and Chapter Director. Chris has over 30 years of municipal solid waste management experience in the areas of organics recycling, solid waste collection and recycling programs, disaster debris management, and capital projects planning and construction management. Chris has an undergraduate degree in Resource Management, and a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Chris also serves on the board of Recycle Florida Today, Inc. as treasurer and the board of trustees for the Recycle Florida Today Foundation, Inc.

Cancellation policy: For cancellations, please contact Florida Composting Council (FLCC) to request a refund. Refunds are allow up to seven (7) days prior to the event. Within seven (7) days of the event, substitutions are allowed, but no refunds will be granted. The FLCC must be notified of substitutions by emailing info@floridacompostingcouncil.org. |
