Industry Breakout Session #1Session summary – Welcome back to networking in small groups, virtually online!  This session offers attendees the opportunity to discuss topics of interest with peers in a smaller setting through breakouts.  Each virtual topic is limited to allow for a personalized experience.  You are encouraged to bring your own snacks to enjoy!Breakout round-table topics to select from:

 

1. Recycling Education – Join this session to share and discuss changes in recycling programs, MRF and curbside contamination, educating residents, and building a better line of communication to focus on what is recyclable.

 

2.  FDEP Report Training– Here is your opportunity to ask and have your questions answered.  Join FDEP and hear helpful tips on how to manage reporting for 2020, tips on what you may be missing, and updates on recycling in the State of Florida.

 

3. Recycling During and After COVID-19 – Changes in recycling coupled with a global pandemic has challenged our industry to pivot the way to do business.  Join this session to share your lessons learned and hear others experiences in managing operations in the era of Coronavirus.

1. New and Emerging Consumer Markets – Join this breakout roundtable to hear and discuss information on utilizing MSW for useful-products as well as current and future recycling commodities for consumption.

 

2. Organics Recycling – Join the Organics Recycling Committee Roundtable to hear the latest on FDEP’s efforts to update Rule 62-709 and the upcoming Workshops they will be scheduling later this year to review the Rule Rewrite language, and FDEP/RFT’s plans for webinars this fall on Anaerobic Digestion and Seaweed/Algae Composting. As well as an update on FORCE! And anything else that is impacting you in the wide, wide world of organics recycling! Looking forward to seeing you!

 

 

3. Overcoming Site Design Challenges – This roundtable aims to share and discussion overcoming site design challenges regarding recycling placement at commercial and multifamily properties when recycling may not have been included in the original infrastructure.
