Last week on Friday, July 26th, Recycle Florida Today Environmental Sustainability Award winners and finalists came together to share information about their outstanding Florida programs. These programs displayed an increased awareness of the importance of sustainability and ability to motivate others to maximize their recycling, composting, grass-roots efforts, waste reduction, sustainability efforts and improving their recycling rates through education, outreach and by example.

Congratulations to Collier County, FL for being our Outstanding Public Program of the Year and Overall Outstanding Program of the Year award winner. Collier County was recognized for their strategy for outstanding program for environmental sustainability. Their Recycling Coordinator efforts have enhanced our recycling program by increasing awareness and motivating the community to maximize recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability efforts through education, outreach, and relatable practices, by encouraging active community engagement and participation naming Collier County the Best Place to Live, Work, and Play!
Congratulations to Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC for being our Outstanding Private Program of the Year. Coke Florida was recognized for their GreenCircle Zero Waste to Landfill Certification Program. This outstanding program focuses on their four sustainability focus areas of recycling, water stewardship, resiliency, litter and waste reduction. These areas have helped Coke Florida serve as the local Florida bottler and commit to sustainability and make a positive difference in communities throughout the state.
